Heart Health and Playing Wii

As we get older, it is sometimes more difficult to get the physical activity that our bodies need. The American Heart Association has found that playing games like on the Wii console may be beneficial if that is the only exercise you are able to do. We see more and more assisted living facilities using the Wii console as a tool to get some physical activities in their seniors.

Day of Beauty at Lou Walker Senior Center

On 9/27/11, Homestead Hospice and Homestead HOPE Foundation organized a “day of beauty” for the seniors at the Lou Walker Senior Center. There were massages, manicures, pedicures, facials and lots of treats. It was our pleasure to bring these services to seniors who may have not otherwise been able to afford them.
